Before the 2005 elections, Tom Marsh selected a group of Chester citizens which he endorsed for various board and commission positions. As First Selectman during the last two years, Tom also appointed people to various boards and commissions. Unlike his opponent who believes that party loyalty supercedes all other criteria, Tom has endorsed and appointed citizens representing all political parties. He has selected people not for their party affliiation or personal loyalties, but for their talents and their dedication to the future of the Town of Chester.

During the last two years, Tom has appointed 28 Democrats, 10 Repulicans, and 11 Independents. With Tom, it is not about party affiliation or loyalty to the party apparatus, but about people's skills and knowledge for the job, their passion for Chester, and their willingness to volunteer their time, show up for meetings, and make a contribution to their community.

It's not about party affiliation or personal loyalties, it's about being an effective team member, ability, dedication, and caring about Chester's future.
