The Road Ahead

The Marsh/Watrous Platform for 2007

Infrastructure — The Challenge of the Next Two Years

As of September 2007 three bridges in Chester are scheduled for replacement by the DOT; the 154 bridge over Chester Creek, the Water St. bridge over Great Brook and the Main Street bridge over Pattaconk Creek. In addition the Dock Road bridge has been determined to be structurally deficient and needs to be replaced. Furthermore, the ongoing pollution resulting from Chester’s failed septic system must be addressed.

The stress this planned activity will place on the fabric of our community will be substantial. The strong leadership and proven management skills exhibited by the Marsh Team over the last two years will be required to guide Chester through these dynamic times.

The MARSH TEAM WILL:

  • Take forceful positions with state agencies.
  • Develop proactive, well thought out strategies to manage the issues raised by the potential disruption to town infrastructure.
  • Incorporate effective communication between the residential, business and regional communities.

In addition continued progress on our 2005 campaign issues will be made.

The MARSH TEAM WILL:

  • Continue to effectively manage town finances
  • Continue to improve the efficiency of town operations
  • Continue to be responsive to the day to day concerns of residents.

And the following important issues will also be addressed:

  • Tax relief for seniors with limited income
  • Low cost option for home trash disposal
  • Expansion of the CT Clean Energy Program

Let's keep the momentum going! Vote for Tom Marsh, Bruce Watrous, and the entire Marsh Team!
