Under the able leadership of Tom Marsh and Bruce Watrous, and with the help of many Chester citizens who have volunteered their time and expertise, Chester town government is more responsive and more responsible than before Tom took office as First Selectman.

• Tom and his Team got the budget and budgeting process under control.
• Tom spearheaded a workable solution to the Wig Hill bridge problem.
• Tom collaborated with the WPCA, a board that was formed by his predecessor, to arrive at an effective, concrete, and pragmatic plan to address polution in the Town Center.
• Tom fostered improved communication among town boards and commissions and transparency of town government through expanded emails, a new website, and several community forums and informational meetings.

• Through the Marsh slate elected as a result of the 2005 election, and through appointments that Tom has made over the last two years, the town boards and commissions have high-performance teams of dedicated, experienced volunteers who commit tireless hours for the advancement of the Town of Chester.

But there is still more to do!

Our work is not yet complete.

• We must continue to hold down town spending and keep taxes in check.
• We must, once and for all, resolve the Village waste disposal problem.
• We must address other infrastructure issues such as the Dock Road bridge.
• We must protect the character of Chester, the Chester that we all love so dearly.
